How estimates are calculated
Parent Care Help uses planning estimates, city-level cost assumptions, and transparent ranges to help families start comparing options. Monthly care costs use base ranges adjusted by a city cost index. Home care estimates incorporate hours per week. All ranges are rounded to the nearest $50.
Why estimates are ranges
Senior care pricing changes with support needs, staffing, market availability, fees, and provider policies. Ranges are more honest for early planning than a single number. These estimates are not quotes and should be verified directly with providers.
Provider data methodology
Provider information may come from official public datasets, state licensing directories, CMS provider resources, provider-submitted updates, and manual review. Parent Care Help does not invent reviews, ratings, rankings, or endorsement claims.
How we improve data over time
We improve estimate accuracy over time using the following data sources:
- •Official public datasets where available
- •Provider-submitted updates
- •Manual review and verification
- •State licensing resources
- •CMS provider resources for Medicare-certified providers where applicable
- •Periodic review with updated dates
